The ZTZ100 is a 4th generation tank of the Chinese Army. Its weapons are housed in an unmanned turret, while the crew sits in the hull. This design is strongly reminiscent of the Russian T-14 Armata. The tank can reach speeds of up to 80 km/h, and its armament consists of a 100mm autoloading cannon and two machine guns. The armor is reinforced by an active anti-aircraft system. Although developed earlier, the ZTZ100 made its first official appearance in August 2025.
To reduce human casualties in combat, work is underway on robots that can take over these tasks from soldiers. The tracked ZRY-222 and the quadrupedal Robot Wolves are systems that can operate both autonomously and remotely. They perform reconnaissance tasks and, with appropriate weaponry, can also engage in combat.
