Description
Plannosaurus Pteranodon from “Plannosaurus” — the iconic flying reptile rendered in a kit that lets you build the bones first, then the body.
The Plannosaurus brand — a hands-on way to truly know dinosaurs — reaches its seventh installment with the Pteranodon, a flagship pterosaur. Skeleton Build mode lets you study the internal structure first, then Dinosaur Build mode adds outer-skin parts over the skeleton in a uniquely model-kit way. No nippers, glue, or other tools are required for assembly. The massive beak — a delicate skeletal frame wrapped in tough keratinous covering — is sculpted to the latest scientific consensus, including the inner mouth structure. The wing membrane characteristic of pterosaurs is rendered with realistic surface fibrous flow, and the pteroid bone — thought to function as an elevator surface — is sculpted from current reconstructions. The articulating shoulder-blade-and-thoracic-vertebrae structure that drives powerful wingbeats is also reproduced. Parts selection lets you display a landed configuration with folded wings and grounded heel, and the included base lets you stage the figure mid-flight.
